Abstract

Topicality. Chronic diseases of the rotator cuff, accompanied by pain in the shoulder, are a widespread pathology that leads to the limitation of a person's professional and everyday activities. There are many scales that can describe upper extremity function. However, until now there is no single opinion on the assessment, expressed in clinical recommendations. This greatly complicates the understanding of the patient's condition after rehabilitation. The goal. Optimization of methodical approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of rehabilitation of patients with chronic diseases of the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint based on the International Classification of Functioning (ICF). Materials and methods. The SPADI test and visual analog scale (VAS), goniometry, radiography, computed tomography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were used to assess the patients' condition. A selection of various ICF categories of the corresponding domain category was made. The results. The author selected the ICF categories of patients with chronic diseases of the rotator cuff with limitation of mobility in the shoulder joint and pain syndrome. Problems are described for each component of the ICF: body structures - 6 categories, body functions - 6 categories, activity and participation - 25 categories. The principles of coding according to the components "activity and participation - mobility, self-service" are shown.During the rehabilitation process, pain decreased from 4-6 points to 2-3 points, the range of motion increased by 30-40%, the categories of activity and participation according to ICF codes changed from moderate to mild problems, which significantly reduced functional problems and improved the quality of life of patients. Conclusion. The use of the ICF allows for the formation of a unified approach to the assessment of the patient's state of health at various stages of rehabilitation of chronic diseases of the shoulder joint to justify the use of various methods of physical therapy and rehabilitation medicine.
